Day Two - All up in Tokyo areas

Had hash browns for breakfast! Then we decided to go into Tokyo to see a shrine type thing. We took quite a few trains and a subway which was actually just a train which went under the ground. Luckily Jess and Stu knew where we were going/Jess can speak Japanese otherwise I would probably have got lost!

We got to the shrine by walking through some market type places which were fun to look at but we can't buy anything because our bags are totes already overweight! the shrine was cool, and had some gardens and stuff around where they also had food stalls. Jess and I had some karaage which was yum!

Then we walked around the town part a bit and then decided to take another train to a different part of the city where they have that massive crossing. We went to starbucks there to spy on people and I saw a person dressed in a onesie that had giraffe print and a really tall head piece like a giraffe head. Then we walked around that part a bit which was real busy and all the shops were playing different music like it was a party the whole time.

We walked over to Harajuku to see if there were any people dressed up in crazy outfits but decided to go to this other shrine on the way which was in a forest type area with super tall trees around. They were having some sort of bonsai tree exhibition there as well which was really cool, they were hundreds of years old. Then we went to the main street where the dressed up people hang out which was called takeshita street and had a look around.

There weren't that many people dressed up but it was super busy and had heaps of interesting shops and heaps of places where you get crepes from, apparently Krystal got a crepe with cheesecake inside it but I didn't get one.

We got a train back to Machida after that to get dinner at a okonomiyaki place where you get this dish which is like some sort of egg pancake thing with veges (like cabbage, sweetcorn etc) inside and also fried noodles, with some sort of yum sauce on it. It was pretty delish. After dinner we went back to Jess and Stu's because we were super tired after walking around for about 9 hours! Tomorrow we are going to go for a picnic and maybe to a park with squirrels.

Here are some pictures of today, I will put more up on facebook probably, although I am a bit slack, so maybe Quentin will do it.
