Day Eighteen: First disaster...

When we got up this morning we had some stuff to do, like blogging etc and packing up so we got that done before we left the camp in Paris. We headed south west after that, towards Spain and the coast. We planned quite a big drive today because we had been in the top of France for awhile and were keen to get out of the city and into the countryside again.

We drove for awhile through heaps of towns with super cute houses, it seems like in each area the houses are all built the same, even if they are new houses they are built to look like the old ones, but there are different ones in different areas. Also each town has an awesome church so you can see from far away when you are coming to a town. They are all old and look kind of like the notre dame but way smaller. There is millions of what we think is wheat growing everywhere, probably to make all the millions of baguettes that people eat over here!

For lunch we stopped at Quick (the burger place) since we hadn't been to one yet and they are everywhere! Quentin got the long long chicken and I got a junior max, which may have been a kids meal, it's hard to tell. No toy though. Also they have magic box which may be like a happy meal. The burger I got was basically like a cheeseburger but instead of having ketchup and pickles it had some kind of mayo type sauce and lettuce. Cheeseburger is better but it was still yum.

A while after that we were getting close to where we were going to stay (actually we drove past it without knowing) but needed gas so we went and found a petrol station. Everything has weird names here but the lady came out to help and asked what we wanted. We saiid petrol so she said ok and filled it up with 'petrol'... tried to leave the petrol station and nek minute the car didn't go! Luckily we were like one metre down the road so Quentin went to tell her and she came back with a man and a younger guy and girl. They pushed it back into the petrol station and spoke heaps of French to each other and then tried to siphon it out. That wasn't working so they took it into the garage part and lifted it on a liftt and tried again, luckily that seemed to be working! The man and lady went out the back and yelled at each other heaps and me and Quentin were a bit worried! When it finished draining they filled it back up with the right petrol and ran it for a bit and it seemed to be going ok so we left.. super lucky there were people there who knew what they were doing!! I think the lady was inn trouble though. She should know what petrol is when she works in a petrol station I'm pretty sure!

After that we went back down the road to where we were staying which was super cute, each camper had it's own little space with hedges around, there was a cute restaurant and some picnic tables and stuff but the toilets were squat ones, gross! I had some tuna salad for dinner and Quentin had some ravioli bolognaise which comes in a can! Crazy! We slept the opposite way up than we had been and it is way better, not sure why Quentin didn't listen to me ages ago aboout doing that haha.

Sweet church

Chip assortment!

The petrol station of doom

Look out for jumping deer!

One flavour was cheese, one was onion, one was tomato and one I couldn't read but tasted like peanut butter and pepper, Stu would like it!
