Day Twenty-Five: Beaches and borders

This morning I woke up early and it was another super nice day, so amazing to wake up just across the road from the beach! Quentin was still sleeping so I went across the road to read for a bit and ended up staying there for about 4 hours! We went for a couple of swims (even Quentin) and had big baguette for breakfast and lunch because we had been missing it. We thought about staying the whole day and night again but Quentin was keen to get back on the road and back into France so that is what we are doing this afternoon. It's super hot again, like 28 degrees or something so hopefully we can go and stay at another beach! Also hopefully we can get some wi-fi so I can upload some more of this blog, seems like ages since I have done any!

We drove from the beach up into a more mountainous area to cross the border into France, saw some pretty sweet views. Just before we got to France there was a big area with heaps of hotels and supermarkets and random shops. We wanted to stop and get some stuff for dinner so we pulled into one supermarket and saw three prostitutes talking to a guy across the road at the petrol station! They were totally like what prostitutes look like in the movies! He didn't end up taking any of them with him though. There were more across the road as well, crazy.

That supermarket was dud though so we went to another one and it seems like they may have been duty free places or something because everyone was buying heaps of massive bottles of alcohol for real cheap. We saw some wine for like 50 cents a bottle! Probably was not good. You can get so many casks here too, and massive jugs of sangria. On our way out of that town there were more prostitutes too.

There was a kind of check point to get into France but the didn't seem to be stopping anyone. They had a town on the border like the one in Spain, with heaps of places that looked like duty free shops selling bags and perfume and liquor and stuff. It was already nicer than Spain though, Spain is totes derro compared to France!

We stopped at the next town we came to and went to their McDonalds to use the internet, they love McDonalds way more in France than Spain! We did some blog updates and looked for a place to stay for the night and there was one just down the road so we went and found it. It was across the road from a massive cemetary which was a bit weird but there were heaps of other vans there so it must have been popular. There was a good view of the mountains and a river just below so we had heaps of mosquitos again, dud.

We had tortilla again for dinner, but this one was different and had ham and cheese in the middle. I think I preferred the plain one but it was still really good. I definitely need to start making them when we get back to a house! Yum.
