We were up pretty early this morning because it was super hot! It is about 25-30 degrees in Spain most of the time! We had some breakfast and then got back on the road to Barcelona. We went through some crazy landscapes, like the wild west or something, there were heaps of old buildings which had just been left to fall down and it looked like there should be heaps of tumbleweeds around. They have these massive pictures of bulls on the top of hills for some reason which look cool from far away.
We drove for ages through the desert before we got to the outskirts of Barcelona and went to a McDonalds to use their wi-fi and decide where to stay. We were there for ages because apparently Spain sucks compared to France in terms of places to stay, especially in Barcelona. We decided to drive around and see if we could just find somewhere to stay and ended up seeing quite a bit of the city doing that.
We got sick of driving around after awhile and found a carpark which was near the beach so we went and lay on the beach for awhile and hung out. It is super popular at all the beaches here! We thought about staying at that park overnight but it was close to some kind of plant which was being super noisy so we thought it would be better to find somewhere else. We ended up going to what was essentially a parking lot but which had a big fence around it and a guard so we felt pretty safe there. It had a lot of cats there so I took some pictues to show Krystal. One of the cats was really mangy so it's name was Mr Mangy.
We had been to a supermarket earlier, well I went in while Quentin was looking up somewhere to stay, but the supermarket was the biggest supermarket ever with aisles and aisles of meat and I got all confused and didn't know what to buy because I am terrible at making decisions! I ended up coming out with Spanish wine, Spanish gin, Spanish orange juice, Spanish tonic and a Spanish tortilla (potato omlette) so we had tortilla and gin for dinner, the tortilla is my second favourite food so far this trip, after ramen and before big baguette.
It was a bit noisy trying to get to sleep there, there were some weird bang noises which may have been gangs shooting each other, or may have be en fireworks. Otherwise I have no idea what they were! But we went to sleep because we had a lot of sightseeing to do the next day!
